How to Select the Correct Blockchain Network
The sending and receiving networks must match exactly. Learn how to choose the correct network for GroveX deposits and withdrawals.
Why the blockchain network matters
Many crypto assets can exist on more than one blockchain network.
The asset symbol alone is not enough to identify the correct transfer route. USDT, for example, can exist on TRC20, ERC20, BEP20 and other networks.
The sending and receiving networks must match exactly.
Deposit example
If GroveX displays a USDT TRC20 deposit address:
- select USDT in the sending wallet;
- select TRC20 as the sending network;
- send only to the GroveX address displayed for USDT TRC20.
Do not select ERC20, BEP20 or another network for that deposit.
Withdrawal example
If the destination exchange gives you a USDT TRC20 deposit address, select TRC20 when withdrawing USDT from GroveX.
The destination must explicitly support that same asset on that same network.
Do not assume similar-looking addresses are compatible
Some blockchain networks use address formats that look similar. That does not mean funds can safely be transferred between them.
Always rely on the network name shown by both the sending platform and receiving platform.
Memo and tag requirements
Some assets require an additional memo, tag, payment ID or destination identifier.
If the receiving platform provides one, enter it exactly. An address alone may not be sufficient for those assets.
Before every transfer
Check all of the following:
- Asset or token.
- Sending network.
- Receiving network.
- Destination address.
- Memo or tag, if required.
- Minimum deposit or withdrawal amount, if shown.
- Network fee.
For a new address or network, consider sending a small test amount first.
What if I used the wrong network?
Do not make another transfer in an attempt to reverse the first transaction.
Collect the TXID, asset, amount, network and destination address and contact GroveX Support. Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible and recovery of unsupported-network transfers is not guaranteed.
